POSITION SUMMARY
Sales Team Members are the frontline representatives of our company and interact directly with customers and potential future customers. This role is crucial and requires a collaborative and positive attitude. The products made here are of the highest quality found anywhere on the market. Customer retention is crucial to our business. Customers love our products but our passion for our product and attentive customer service is what sells it. We strive to be of service to each other as well as our clients.

This position is a flex 1099 contract position, meaning it can be done from home regularly, but we do require some face-to-face interaction and check-ins as discussed and arranged before time of contract hire. Training requires a week of training off-site and 2 days on-site including working in the warehouse on the production line, working in the lab, and time spent in the office learning the software and working with the management team. Sales members attend company meetings once a week either in person or via Zoom.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Maintaining the recurring orders list and inputting those orders into the database for fulfillment. This requires a sense of urgency and promptness. Customers depend on maintaining a predictable delivery schedule.

  • Answer the phones during contractor set hours and be available to customers and Pioneers Harvest staff to help with any customer service-related issues within a day unless the contractor has notified the PH staff of their availability.

  • Handle inbound sales calls with potential new customers.

  • Work with your supervisor to create and execute an outbound sales strategy (i.e., cold calling, emails, or physical meetings).

  • Keep up with the general knowledge of the commercial growing industry.

  • Weekly Check-in Meeting with Manager.

  • Maintain the company CRM and keep customer contact information up to date in both the CRM and MRP.

  • Work closely with the Contractors engaged with our Cultivation Expert Program.

  • Optional: Attend 2 tradeshows a year, to be determined by sales team and supervisor.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES)

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • 1-2 years of related experience working in similar industry; additional education may be substituted for years of work experience.

  • Good oral and written communication skills.

  • Ability to be a team player and meet deadlines.

  • Comfortable using a computer, writing, and answering emails, CRM software, basic Office and Google Docs skills, video chats, and sending estimates and marketing materials to clients.

  • Good at speaking on the phone and answer the phone regularly. Not answering the phone consistently will result in termination of the agreement.

  • Maintain a self-determined schedule that meets the needs of the Company and the Customers.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Previous Agriculture Sales Experience.

  • CRM Experience.

  • MRP or ERP Experience.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
You will be working independently most of the time with regular team check-ins. We ask that you have a designated clean workspace, clear of clutter, and a good internet connection wherever you choose to work. When you are on-site at the facility, proper attire should be worn like closed-toed, flat shoes, long pants, and a company shirt. We are a manufacturing facility and abide by all OSHA regulations and guidelines.

 

COMPENSATION
This is a contract/commission only position. New Orders get a 10% commission of the total sale less discounts and shipping. Recurring orders get 7% commission of total sales less discounts and shipping. Contractors are paid on schedule with regular employees every other Friday. Sales commissions are not paid until the customer pays the Company. Once a customer pays for their order, the commission will be included in the two-week pay period and paid the following Friday.

REIMBURSEMENT
The Company will reimburse approved expenses related to the job. Small expenses under $100 do not require pre-approval. Over $100 requires approval from management. Any unapproved expenses may not be reimbursed, and the contractor will be notified as to why an expense is not approved by the Company. Contractors will submit receipts or digital copies of receipts along with a ledger and short description of the expense to be reimbursed. Contract partners may submit their expenses as often as every two weeks in line with the payroll schedule or monthly.
